…honor to the fallen

originally uploaded by Shirley Buxton.

A marked concept of the elevated life is that of honor, and so today, the 6th year since 9/11, I give honor to our country, to our leaders…and to those who fell on that blackest of days. That day when our pristine skies were mutilated by terrorists who wiped away 2,974 peoples of the world. It was a dark moment in American history; indeed in the history of the world.

“Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.” Romans 13:7

A defining principle in the Word of God is that of resurrection, of rebuilding, of courage. Consider these glorious words of the prophet Micah.

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.” Micah 7:8
