In God We Trust

“Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all our heart for consider how great things he hath done for you.” 1 Samuel 12:24

Absolutely refreshing is it when a governmental body grasps the opportunity to make a positive statement about our great God. What a mirror of our framers, what evidence of our core, an assertion of true mid-America thought.

INDIANAPOLIS ā€” A judge has upheld the issuance of Indiana license plates bearing the message “In God We Trust,” dismissing a constitutional challenge by the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana.

The entire story is here.

May this account cause us to reflect again on our great God, the One who redeemed us, who provides for us, who is our Master–the one in whom we trust. The God who is the giver of life, the Only God, the true fountain of freedom and of bubbling joy! We trust Him!

You know, if you replace the word “God” with, I don’t know, Allah, Satan, Communism, or something like that, you’d have an entirely different slant on this issue.

Hello, Kip. You’re right, of course, that changing the object of an issue often redirects its slant. Certainly such would be true in this case, for if the Indiana judge were to uphold trusting in Satan, I would not be supportive…doubt also if you would. šŸ™‚
