“Outward comforts can no more fill the heart than a triangle can fill a circle.”
“There is as much difference between heavenly comforts and earthly, as between a banquet that is eaten, and one that is painted on the wall.”
Thomas Watson
Thomas Watson died in 1686, yet his words ring true and riveting this morning. It is only of the heavenly that we are satiated; only in the Spirit do we find complete rest.

My other blog is here.
So true. Nothing that this world has to offer can satisfy our souls like Jesus can! Hope you have a blessed day.
I am satisfied with Jesus, my cup is running over.
Pray without ceasing. We need to get together a group of committed Christians to pray for Sarah Palin 24 hours a day. I have never seen the Evil One so viciously attack one of God’s children.
I pray that Christ will place a Guardian Angel over her, because I fear that someone will try to take her life.
She is not being attacked because she is a woman, she is being attacked because she is a Christian woman who believes in prayer and who believes that all life is sacred.
God please help us.
Nothing in this world can compare to the rivers of living water. A joy and complete peace in Jesus that the world can never take away or duplicate.
Have a blessed weekend in Jesus.

One might say that fasting can sometimes be more fulfilling than eating…
When I read this post the song came to mind “Shut in with God in a secret place there in the Spirit beholding His face.
Gaining new power to run in this race, How I long to be shut in with God! God bless you!
Psalms – For He satisfies the longing heart and fills the hungry soul with goodness. I can’t imagine what life would be like without having the Lord as my Savior.
When Jesus arose from the grave, He returned as THE Comforter!
Those who waited in that Upper room, as written in the book of Acts, were the first ever to experience the comforter, God’s powerful spirit!
As we longingly await that glorious day when our savior shall call us home to heaven. He has afforded us comfort, thank you God, for allowing your spirit to dwell in this earthen vessel!
(Hi Granny! I love you lots! Can’t wait for Jesus to come back!)
Shirley, I don’t know why you stopped posting to this blog. But frankly, I think this is one of those times when we need it the most.
Absolutely true. Great quote.
